Verina is an accomplished business leader and strategist with more than 25 years of experience supporting businesses, driving growth, and enabling people to perform at their best. Growing up in a family business and as the second eldest sister of Cilna, Verina’s passion for business, innovation, and collaboration was nurtured from an early age. This early exposure laid the foundation for a career defined by her ability to optimise operations, shape strategic direction, and deliver sustainable results.
From 2002 to 2018, Verina built a successful career at Columbus Stainless, where she held several senior leadership positions:
- Supply Chain Manager – Managed complex supply chain operations, streamlining processes and strengthening supplier relationships to improve overall efficiency.
- Strategy Manager – Supported the development and implementation of business strategies to improve competitiveness and align operations with global market opportunities.
- Export Manager – Managed the Export Sales Department, overseeing the commercial and operational aspects of international sales to more than 50 global destinations. This included negotiating contracts, managing customer agreements, maintaining relationships with distributors and key partners, as well as overseeing pricing, trade compliance, and overall export processes.
In addition to her corporate achievements, Verina served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Alliance MidMed from 2004 to 2018, where she contributed to governance, risk oversight, and long-term sustainability initiatives.
Since 2020, Verina has been part of GLPS, where she serves as Procurement and Contracts Manager. In this role, she manages high-value engineering contracts and coordinates negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring seamless commercial alignment across complex projects. GLPS specialises in designing high-capacity smelting furnaces and plants, delivering innovative engineering solutions to clients across the mining and metals industries.
Verina’s leadership style blends strategic vision with practical execution. She values collaboration, focuses on building strong relationships, and supports business growth through balanced and effective decision-making.
In her personal life, Verina has been married to Ruben Roach since 2003, and together they are raising two children, Rohan and Alana. Her personal journey – balancing family, career, and business ambitions – reflects her holistic approach to success, where people, strategy, and results come together.
